Formed in 2004, Five Aspects of ME has worked with children and young people in some of the most deprived wards in the UK. Formerly based in London, we are now based in NW England. Our work focuses on helping children to understand themselves and understand their emotions - although we have worked with many children with behaviour disorders and children struggling with their social interactions with others, our work is always more emotion-management than behaviour-management, because it is our belief that taking care of the emotions means the behaviour will take care of itself.
We have delivered programmes in schools, for local authority targeted support services, e.g. Kensington & Chelsea, housing associations under Urban Regeneration and European Social Fund, as well as running our own grant-funded courses, drop in sessions and individual support.
As well as supporting children and young people, we run parent/carer workshops.
